The long road from chemo treatments to running a marathon
UDPATE: WE DID IT!
We successfully completed the Dublin marathon on Monday, October 27, crossing the finish line hand-in-hand in 4 hours, 51 minutes! Thank you so much for all your support - we could not have done this without all of you. Click on photos to see more pics, and on diary to hear about all of it. -------------------------------------- Look around and sign our guestbook! We are so uplifted by all the support friends, family and business associates have shown us these past few weeks. THANK YOU! We have been able to fundraise enough to qualify for participation in the marathon in Dublin, Ireland. We have bought tickets to Great Britain for all 5 of us, and will run the marathon at the end of a family trip next fall. The most important thing, though, is that we will be able to add thousands of dollars to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's efforts to research until a cure is found for these diseases. - - - - - - - - - It has been an amazing year with more ups and downs than we knew existed. After Jeff's diagnosis, treatment and remission from Stage 4 Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma, we both feel passionate about fundraising for this great cause! Jeff is not only a Team in Training marathon participant and fundraiser. He is also an Honored Hero for TNT, which means that he and 3 others with leukemia and lymphoma are who our Dallas team is running, walking and cycling in honor of. Team in Training has raised hundreds of millions of dollars nationwide for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society which uses this money to fund research for new drugs and treatments. It also funds much needed patient services. Please help us raise money for more research and patient services by making a tax deductible donation to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society! Jeff and I will run 26.2 miles together in October 2003 for this cause, and need all the support we can get.
